Freedom lies in being bold

Hi I'm Shelley, a recent college grad. I'm an intersectional feminist. I usually blog about social justice, pop culture, fandom, adorable animals, pretty people and everything in between. My current obsession is Marvel movies. Also, I blog about Teen Wolf, Stark Trek, Criminal Minds, Young Justice, comic books, and anime/manga. I started out as a Glee blog, so those posts float in occasionally. I'm always thinking, are you?

my ot4 beach trip 2k14

I deeply heart that Steve and Natasha are wearing suits of each other’s superhero id’s, and the towel wrapped around Bucky’s arm, and Sam’s everything.

When an undercover officer saw Monica Jones, a black transgender woman, walking down the street just a few blocks from her house, in an area that the officer described as being “known for prostitution,” that was enough to convince him that she intended to engage in prostitution. It was on that basis that he approached and stopped her.
In April of this year, Monica was convicted of violating this overbroad and vague law. Today she appeals that conviction, and the ACLU, along with other advocacy and civil rights organizations, filed a brief in support of her appeal.
We #StandWithMonica because transgender women of color should be able to walk down the street in their neighborhoods without being arrested, or worse, for simply being themselves.

after you’ve been through like a string of fandoms and you’ve decided your favourite character/s for each one, there will come a day when you will list all your faves from each fandom side by side and look at them carefully and realise

In a tree by the brook, there’s a songbird who sings. Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven.

ICONIC

People so often use “iconic” to refer to things that are not iconic, but I feel like this picture really will be.

I said it before in a tag, but I think the American flag T-shirt is what’s going to make this the biggest image to come out of Ferguson. Few things make an impression like wearing a T-shirt with the flag of the land of the free and the home of the brave on it while you throw back a tear gas canister that the people who are supposed to be protecting you threw at you in the first place just for protesting.

plus his twitter has more photos from ferguson, powerful stuff
